This program provides influenza immunizations to adults and children in the Lake County area.
Who Can Receive Services
Children 18 years and younger must be Federal Vaccine for Children (VFC) eligible to receive services, with the exception of flu shots. Adults do not have to meet any specific age, demographic or income eligibilities.

Where to Get Your Flu Shot
The Health Department continues to provide flu vaccinations at its Immunization Program, 2303 Dodge Avenue in Waukegan. The Health Department accepts Medicare Part B, Medicaid, cash, checks, and credit cards. No private insurance is accepted. Flu vaccinations are given by appointment. The injectable flu shots are $29 and the live, nasal spray flu vaccine is $39 for adults who are 19 years old or older. A recombinant flu vaccine for egg-allergic persons and a High-Dose flu vaccine for person 65 years old and older are available for an additional charge.
VFC Eligible Children:
The administration charge for vaccines for children who are eligible for the federal VFC program is $16 per dose. There is no co-pay for Medicaid recipients. We will not deny pediatric vaccines to VFC-eligible children even if the responsible party cannot pay for them. Click here to find out if your child is eligible for the federal VFC program.
The charge for children who are not VFC eligible is also $16 per dose, but payment is expected at the time of service.
